The English Channel at it's shortest point is 21 miles in a straight line from Dover to Cap Gris Nez. If you were to swim the channel for real, you would probably do more than 21 miles, but for this event, we are challenging you to swim the straight line 21 miles (1,351 lengths of a 25m pool) only.

How long will it take you ? There is no time limit on this event, so you can take as long as you need and set your challenge to your own personal fitness goals. There is absolutely no time limit on this challenge, so if it takes you a month or 6 months or 12 months and beyond, you are still a finisher and will get your medal.

Once you have finished your 21 miles, email us at and we will send you your fab medal which at 70mm wide is nice and chunky.

Your Swim the English Channel event will start from the date of entry unless you advise us otherwise, and if you prefer to do your miles first and then purchase the medal that is absolutely fine too.

We accept evidence from your Garmin swim watch or other Swim tracker, however, we accept that not everyone uses these, so a manual log of your swims is perfectly acceptable. We will send you a manual tracker on receipt of your entry. Please allow 48 hours for us to get this to you, but in the meantime, please feel free to get started.
